Creating Hype
The initial hook is essentially the way in which I as the designer will build a buzz around the campaign/ product that I wish to use to solve a world problem. The hook can be a 2D, 3D or Experiential way of getting the word out about the solution.
Cause Marketing
Cause marketing is a cooperative effort between a for-profit business and a non-profit organisation to mutually promote and benefit from social and other charitable causes. Cause marketing relationships are “feel goods,” and assure your customers that you share their desire to make the world a better place. A good example of this would be to give free workshops using the products or to give away samples of the product in order to help those within schools.
Direct Selling
This is exactly as it says on the tin, direct selling is marketing and selling directly to consumers. These tend to involve face-to-face relationships with a selling agent, away from a corporate setting. This would not apply to the campaign but is still notable as a form of advertising.
Earned Media
Earned media is publicity that is created through efforts other than paid advertising. It can take a variety of forms such as, a social media testimonial, word of mouth, a television or radio mention, a newspaper article and an editorial feature. A good example of this would be a feature within a school catalogue or a feature on BBC news, showcasing the product.
Point of Purchase Marketing
Point-of-Purchase marketing sells to a captive audience, those shoppers already in-store and ready to purchase. It essentially produces an offer that is so good, the consumer struggles to create a viable reason not to buy. This would essentially work in the capacity of a workshop within a school which although different to a consumer in a shop in physicality, the principle is still the same.
Internet Marketing
Internet marketing, or online marketing, combines web and email to advertise and drive e-commerce sales. Social media platforms may also be included to leverage brand presence and promote products and services. In total, these efforts are typically used in conjunction with traditional advertising formats like radio, television and print.
Paid Media Advertising
Paid media refers to external marketing efforts that involve a paid placement. Paid media includes PPC advertising, branded content, and display ads. Paid media is an essential component of revenue growth and brand awareness for online businesses. This involves paying a third-party service to share your message with other individuals.
Social Media/ Viral Marketing
Social media marketing focuses on providing users with content they find valuable and want to share across their social networks, resulting in increased visibility and traffic. Social media shares of content, videos and images also influence Search Engine Optimisation efforts in that they often increase relevancy in search results within social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram and search engines like Google and Yahoo.
